Last September, my mother and I enjoyed a three day weekend at a luxurious retreat in Napa, California. Northern California will always remain one of my favorite regions of the country– and wine country − particularly Napa Valley − is a perfect setting to slow down, relax, and experience the flavors and aromas of fine wine, exceptional cuisine, and rejuvenating spa treatments!
I love travelling to New York City, and we go once a year to see a show on Broadway. NYC is one of the greatest cities in the world, and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to travel to this amazing and ever-changing city with my mother. Still, I will always be drawn to Northern California– a culture focused more on the quality of one’s life than on one’s bank account balance or job title. I cannot get enough of the sunshine, as well as the fresh air and good food! Throw in a great bottle of wine, and I am in heaven! What better place to spend quality time, reconnecting with mom!
Together, we flew into San Francisco, and then drove up to Napa where we spent our first two days. We then spent two unforgettable nights in Sonoma, and one night in San Francisco before returning to South Florida. During the day, we toured handful wineries, just enjoying ourselves while driving around the countryside. In the evening, we ate at three amazing restaurants in Napa and Sonoma: 1313 Main, Carpe Diem Wine Bar, and The Girl and The Fig.
Northern California definitely has a laid back attitude—peaceful, surreal, and the perfect place to make some unforgettable memories with mom!
